SPA POLICIES for 2025-26 Academic Year

  1. Attendance:  As in any learning endeavor, commitment is vital to making a steady progress.  Daily practice routine along with weekly lessons will instill discipline and foster the joy of learning.  Students are expected to come at their regular lesson time, which is reserved solely for them.

  2. Cancellations and Make-up Lessons:  An absence will be considered excused if the student provides a 24-hour advance notice or in case of a medical or family emergency that could not have been predicted sooner.

    For students registered for the full term (34 lessons in 2025-26), up to five (5) make-up lessons will be given per academic year for absences that are considered excused. For new incoming students, the number of make-ups will be prorated based on the registered number of lessons. For Summer term, only one excused absence will be eligible for a make-up.

    Make-up lessons can be scheduled during the academic year or postponed to the Summer Term depending on mutual availability of the student and the teacher.

    To help maintain uninterrupted weekly learning and avoid make-up lessons, students may occasionally request to swap their lesson time with other students.

  3. Refunds:  A written request must be received five (5) days prior to the first scheduled lesson in order to receive a full refund.  Written requests received two (2) days after the first lesson will be refunded at 50%, excluding the registration fee.  No refunds will be given two (2) days after the second scheduled lesson, whether or not the student attends the class.

  4. Building Regulations:  As the Academy seeks to provide a pleasant learning environment for all, please speak quietly when lessons are in session.

  5. Pick-up Regulation:  Parents and caregivers are expected to pick up their child(ren) promptly at the end of the lesson.

  6. Inclement Weather:  In case the student is unable to come to the lesson due to weather conditions, please call 206.525.2355 or email lessons@seattlepianoacademy.com.  In the event that the Academy has to be closed due to inclement weather, make-up lessons will be given upon each teacher's discretion.

  7. Personal Property Liability:  The Academy does not assume liability for personal property, including theft or accidental damage.

  8. Firearms:  No firearms or dangerous weapons of any kind are allowed on the Academy's premises.

  9. Pets and Service Animals:  No pets are allowed on the Academy's premises, with the exception of service animals.

  10. Privacy Policy:  The Academy takes information privacy very seriously. Registration information about students and parents is collected using a secure online form, used only for SPA purposes, and never shared with third-parties without prior agreement. All credit card information for tuition payment is collected on a secure server and kept private.
